The Christman Company earns Pinnacle Business Award

The Christman Company earned top honors in the large business excellence category in the Knoxville Chamber’s 2021 Pinnacle Business Awards.

“The Christman Company has deep roots in developing iconic and historically significant properties in Knoxville,” said Marty Gibbs, vice president and general manager for The Christman Company’s operations in Knoxville. “The ties to our community are deepened through the great work and community dedication of our team and it’s such an honor to receive this recognition from the Knoxville Chamber.”

The Knoxville Chamber held the 17th annual Pinnacle Business Awards ceremony Feb. 19 in an online event to celebrate outstanding businesses and business professionals for their impact on regional economic prosperity.

The Christman Company has built some of East Tennessee’s historically significant structures, including The Manhattan Project in Oak Ridge and the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Towers and iconic Sunsphere for the 1982 World’s Fair in Knoxville.

The company has partnered with the University of Tennessee since 1946 on more than 40 projects, including the recent construction of the Student Union and Ken and Blaire Mossman Building.
Recognized by the Knoxville Chamber for its impact on regional economic prosperity, The Christman Company currently has $515 million work in progress in Knoxville, including The Lodge at Shannondale, renovation of Neyland Stadium and renovation of the former TVA East Tower for use by UT and Knox County Schools, among others.
Community impact is delivered through the organization’s “Be Constructive” program, an initiative to be an active and significant contributor to the local community, which supports a variety of missions through volunteerism, individual and corporate giving, sponsorships and partnerships.
