The Christman Company donates goods to Knox County Isaiah 117 House for foster children

The Christman Company has donated needed goods, including clothing and backpacks, to the Knox County Isaiah 117 House so that children entering the foster care system can have new, clean items at a stressful time when comfort is needed.

“Isaiah 117 House is an organization that puts the needs of children in our community first,” said Marty Gibbs, vice president and general manager for The Christman Company’s operations in Knoxville. “By providing a loving environment for children entering foster care, we can all help them as they undergo significant life changes.”

The Christman Company staff organized the drive and recently delivered three boxes of clothing, backpacks, gift cards and cash donations to the Knox County house, for distribution to children as needed.

“As active supporters and contributors to the Knoxville community, we know it is our duty to give back and especially to people who need it the most,” said Carol Frederick, senior estimator for The Christman Company and coordinator of the drive. “We want to help ease the transition and build better lives for foster children.”

The donation is a part of The Christman Company’s “Be Constructive” program, a company-wide initiative to be an active and significant contributor to the local communities it serves. The program supports a variety of missions through volunteerism, individual and corporate giving, sponsorships and partnerships.

“We appreciate The Christman Company helping us provide much needed clothing items to the children in our care,” said Kristi Whitehead, program coordinator at the Knox County Isaiah 117 House. “The most rewarding thing is knowing the donations will bring smiles to young faces. They now will have something to call their own.”
