The building needed numerous updates, including improvements to the student lounges and cafeteria, the power system, cooling for multiple locations, and upgrades to match current safety codes. The 24 student lounges received technological advancements and updated comforts, including wireless internet access added throughout the building. Among numerous new features in the dining facility, the primary item was a pair of tandoori ovens that offered a new international variety of food on campus. A new fire alarm and fire suppression system was installed throughout the entire building. Cooling was provided for multiple locations including the cafeteria, classrooms and office spaces. A new curtain wall was constructed to enhance the efficiency of the facility. The renovation also included new chillers, switchgear, air handling units, structural steel grillage, and a new ADA accessible ramp. In addition, a new elevator was added within the existing central building.
