Encore Lodging
For years, the Asheville Supply and Foundry Company supplied steel and other equipment used to construct North Carolina icons. When it closed in 1950, five independent structures were left abandoned. In 2017, the Preservation Society of Asheville and Buncombe County stepped forward with the intent to return the historic Asheville Foundry site, which was otherwise set to be demolished, to its former glory and transform it into a first-class hospitality facility. After a complete rehabilitation, this 87-room luxury hotel provides an unrivaled and unique guest experience. The restoration and overall design of the facility is a stunning meld of old and new, all completed with the guidance and supervision of the North Carolina State Historic Preservation Office and the National Park Service, ensuring the historic fabric was preserved while the functionality of the buildings was modernized.
