Randall School Redevelopment / Rubell Museum DC

Having sat unused for years, the building was in serious disrepair and even had a flooded basement from significant water intrusion issues and failure of key stormwater removal pathways. The renovation involved significant structural work to shore up and reinforce the existing building.

Interior work focused on historic plaster and lathe repair and restoration of skylights in the entryway, ultimately preserving the historic fabric while breathing new life into the space. The team also installed all new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems. Exterior entrances and walkways were upgraded to be ADA compliant and the concrete areaway that goes around the building was reconstructed with new code compliant railings that matched the character and intent of the original ones.
