Brembo North America

New Foundry and Warehouse Addition

A global leader in the design, development and production of braking systems for the automotive and motorcycle markets, Brembo selected Christman to construct a state-of-the-art cast iron foundry with a large scale production floor. The heart of the foundry lies within the expansive melt shop where scrap metal is deposited on a 42” thick mass concrete pad.

Working on an aggressive 14-month schedule with integrated equipment installation, the team coordinated with the client to meet each milestone and orchestrate a safe, fast-paced, high-output construction schedule. Christman also managed a comprehensive value analysis effort to reduce the construction cost by over $8 million, allowing the project to move forward. In addition, the team created a fully coordinated 3D BIM model of the building structure, architectural features, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection systems, working with Brembo’s suppliers to obtain 3D equipment files and providing the company with a functional BIM model for building management services.
