Michigan Veterans Home – Chesterfield

Constructed as part of a long-term plan move the state's veterans homes toward improved sustainability and long-term care for veterans, this new home was constructed to serve the large veteran population in southeast Michigan. Located on a 103-acre site, it features a small house concept set up in several neighborhoods.

The neighborhoods connect to a main 33,000 SF community center which houses administrative offices, occupational and physical therapy spaces, and amenities like a multi-faith prayer room, café and bistro, barbershop, beauty parlor, multipurpose rooms, and a large space for full membership and community gatherings. The surrounding grounds are designed for additional recreation and exercise opportunities, with walking paths and gardens.
