Because of this, it functions as a core project driver, not a secondary layer (even if it’s not explicitly mentioned by the owner as a driver)

The same decisions that affect sustainability also affect cost, constructability, and risk. And they’re usually being made by the same group of people at the same time, project managers, estimators, designers, and procurement teams.

In practice, sustainability has become (and should continue to be) another lens through which teams evaluate project decisions, right alongside cost, schedule, quality, and constructability.
