Harley Medical Park is a medical office building offering Class A space and located on a five-acre site near the busy intersection of Cascade Road and I-96 in Grand Rapids. The facility is a two-story steel framed structure featuring brick veneer, numerous windows in each bay on both floors, a two-story entrance lobby with wood wall panels and stainless steel/glass stairway railings, as well as two elevators. An emergency energy generator designed to handle power for potential outpatient medical use is also located on site, as well as a 20,000 s.f. underground parking garage.


During the project, soil boring revealed the presence of buried topsoil and peat near the center of the building. The team worked to replace 30% of the site with engineered fill-in at an average depth of two and one-half feet. Although this issue presented challenges to the project, the team worked together to complete the project on time and in budget.
