Diversity

Christman’s commitment to a diverse workplace is reflected in an environment in which we place high value on mutual respect and understanding and in which we welcome and actively solicit contributions from diverse backgrounds, talents and perspectives. Among our related initiatives are the following:

Diverse People and Projects

For Christman, diversity begins with our pursuit of a broad range of challenging projects that contribute to a variety of facets of life in the communities we serve. The Christman mark of excellence can be found on the hospitals where our children are born and the schools and universities they are educated in, on the places people gather for worship, on workplaces where community members earn a living, on a variety of entertainment and hospitality venues, on facilities that support medical research and clean water, on landmark historic buildings such as our own corporate headquarters, and many others. Likewise the communities we work in are unique and varied, ranging from rural towns embarking on first-ever projects to major metropolitan areas undertaking complex urban development plans. The diverse set of challenges we pursue attracts broad-minded thinkers, encourages lively collaboration, and brings us into contact with a remarkable range of community and organization leaders, architects and engineers, trade contractors, and construction oversight agencies.

Mentoring

Formal and informal mentoring enables us to offer employees the opportunity to learn from their experienced colleagues. Other tools, including our corporate intranet and People Directory help less experienced employees tap into the experience and expertise of their coworkers throughout the organization. This enables us to help hone - and retain - the best talent possible.

Recruitment of Female and Minority Employees

We are committed to being an equal opportunity employer through our recruitment of employees that represent the communities we live in, work in and serve.

Celebrating National Women In Construction Week

In honor of National Women in Construction Week, a handful of our female employees were featured in a social media campaign where they shared their story of pursuing a career in the construction industry as well as key challenges and highlights of their role. Visit our news section to read more about this group of experts, leaders and partners.

Talent Development and Career Planning

We place a high priority on cultivating the talents and enthusiasm of our employees. By integrating the needs and goals of our current and future Experts, Leaders and Partners with those of the organization, including systems for regular goal-setting and review, we work together to create paths to rewarding, long-term careers at Christman.

Training and Development

Through our Christman University programs and other career and professional development, education and training opportunities, we assist our employees in growing, improving and thriving in their Christman careers.
